Bug: Building "Planetary Defense" (the one supposed to give +25%) doesn't seem to do anything.

I just checked again with 1.2-Beta-2, the bonus isn't shown under "planet bonuses" on the planetary details screen, the numbers in combat don't change (barring the random roll) and it was no problem to invade a planet with eight such buildings (on equal tech level and soldiering value).

There is also an ethic planet event that give the planet a planetary bonus which doesn't show up under "planet bonuses".

ShadowTek: Your "Jewelry Vanishing Bug", is it where the Jewelry is still on the ship, but just rearranged in an odd fashion, or is the Jewerly actually being completely stripped from the ships?


Compleatly removed, only happens to added ships though, not ones I build in game.

When upgrading core ship designs, the game doesn't let me remove any components.

The Remove button doesn't work at all, and selecting then right-clicking a component from the list at the top only removes the icon from the list--the component is still perfectly visible on the ship itself, and the ship's stats remain unchanged.

The only way to get rid of the components is to hit the Clear button, which defeats the whole point of upgrading a ship because you not only have to design from scratch, but the game also treats the design as a "new" one, so obseleting the older design doesn't cause the starports building it to automatically switch construction to the upgraded design.

If you have a ship currently upgrading and delete the model it is upgrading to - when you click on the ship on the map, the program crashes out.

When upgrading ships the displayed cost for upgrading all your ships now is the correct amount (nr of ships times cost of a ship) but you only get charged for one ship! Cheap way to upgrade your fleet

Well I guess I should have put it here......

I have been playing this new patch and an interesting glich happened but I am not shure how to recreat it......

I started a new game. Played for a while one of the races was wiped out. saved the game. loaded the saved game next day. in the area of where the race was wiped out a hole bunch of level 14 planets magicaly appeared. all these planets were level 0 at the start of the game. wired......

There is one request though when you decomition a ship it would be nice if there was a cancel button for thoughs like me that clicked on the wrong ship and can't get it back.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. But, in the last game I played, I managed to "buy out" one of the minor races. I just offered him a lot of trade goods and most of my old ships for his one (home) planet. He said fine. That removed him from the game (and my ships). It just seems to not be a very logical thing to allow. If a race was inclined to do this, wouldn't something like folding into my civilization be better?

MuLa: There is an event that can occur that does this. DId you skip over any event dialogs that may have informed you of the planets being upgraded?

David and Camaero: Not a bug if you offer the leader enough stuff. Why suffer through the hardships as a leader if you can be taken over with cash and gifts and live the good life from that point forward

v1.2 Beta 2 Feedback

1. Bug: If I move a rally point in the middle of my turn, ships moving to that point do not move, and the "turn/skip" button is missing. This means I must right click on the rally point as the focus moves to each ship. I ran into this during the end game on a gigantic map while trying for a diplomatic victory. As each SB was maxed out, I moved the rally point. I had to right click and wait for each hyper warp constructor to move 43 parsecs -- very time consuming.

2. Bug: Moving the rally point at the beginning of the turn appears to cause those ships to not move until the next turn (thus missing a turn?).

3. Bug: Also having problems with auto attack like post #41. In addition to that post, have observed that sometimes, for fleets, clicking on the auto attack button works while the checkbox would not.

4. Bug: I second post #1, regarding moving homeworlds.

5. Suggestion: During the end game on large maps, it takes a long time for player's ships to move. Perhaps an option for instant, non-animated movement would speed things up.

6. Suggestion: Provide some way to quickly pick colony rally points. If after sorting the colony management screen by ship type, I could go thru the list and pick rally points, that would be ideal -- a "quick pick pop up" similar to what is available for ships or improvements. This would allow for quick and easy rallying of troops behind the front line, or managing multiple fronts. Currently, changing RPs on a group of planets takes a lot of clicks.

7. Suggestion: In planet detail screen, build list still automatically scrolls to the top of the list. I think this was mentioned in the dev journal before.

Bug in battle calculations?

I had a huge ship as built Beam 42, Shield 18, Mass 64, Armor 15

my huge ship + bonuses Beam 113, Shield 42, Mass 174, Armor 35 (Weapons 114%, Defense 133%)

Enemy ship with bonuses Beam 83, Shield 0, Mass 0, Armor 15

Even though I should have had a big advantage, the enemy ship was actually out damaging my ship 18 to 16 per turn. Why would this happen?

I am also still experiencing the Out of Memory error when saving, but it is much less frequent now. I could post the debug.err file but many have already done so before me so I am not sure there is any point. I am using the latest version of the beta and I have 1 Gig of RAM.

Heres my bug I found playing the Mod version. You make a custom race and pick miniturization(lol sorry bad speller) and pick the rest of your picks normally. Then if you take that race and play a metaverse with them, it takes away the pts you spent in mini and gives the ability points back to you. Problem is you still have mini as a perm ability. Then when you play and submit the game to meta you get tagged as cheating. At first I didnt even catch this as I saw I had ability pts left so i used them. Then after playing said game, I got to looking at the custom race in meta and said..whoa lol. Not sure if others can repeat this..but it happens to me 100% when I make a new custom race in normal sandbox mode..then quit out and start a metaverse game.

You can do this by selecting a planet in colony management screen and press T button. I understanded that you seeked this option.

6. Suggestion: Provide some way to quickly pick colony rally points. If after sorting the colony management screen by ship type, I could go thru the list and pick rally points, that would be ideal -- a "quick pick pop up" similar to what is available for ships or improvements. This would allow for quick and easy rallying of troops behind the front line, or managing multiple fronts. Currently, changing RPs on a group of planets takes a lot of clicks.


As sam0t says, you can select a planet on the colony management screen and press T to choose a rally point.
You can also select the planet on the main map and press T to set the rally point.
