I've noticed similar behavior (showing blank ships), and it seemed to happen to me when I had obsoleted the design, but still had ships of that make and model in play (didn't delete). Maybe something sleightly askew with the upgrade ship process.

Have to say, I haven't run into any of the bugs I encountered in Beta 1. However, I was playings as Drengin and decided to go neutral once I discovered the tech that lets you decide. I had ~900 BC when I did so and it would cost me 2500. I should either go to -1600 or it should not work, right? Well, it did work but I did not lose more than the 900 I had. I came out at exactly 0 BC. I wonder what would've happened if I chose good for 10k also only a loss of 900?

Vesa, your game resolution does not match your desktop resolution.

Current Display Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)

Running different screen resolutions on the desktop and for the game shouldn't be a problem, I'm doing that myself.

Bug: Building "Planetary Defense" (the one supposed to give +25%) doesn't seem to do anything.

I just checked again with 1.2-Beta-2, the bonus isn't shown under "planet bonuses" on the planetary details screen, the numbers in combat don't change (barring the random roll) and it was no problem to invade a planet with eight such buildings (on equal tech level and soldiering value).

In my opinion it should increase the local soldiering value by 25 per building when a planet with it is attacked.

I've noticed a couple of things with the example mod...

1) Once I have researched the missle/stinger tech (as the Humans,) a ship called the Dragon becomes available. It is nicely equipped with 20 Attack! I think it is armed with photonic torpedos.

2) If you save a game right before the UP meets, but continue the game until after the UP has met and a resolution decided upon, you can reload the game to the turn before and the UP will not meet...kind of an exploit I guess.

ShadowTek: Your "Jewelry Vanishing Bug", is it where the Jewelry is still on the ship, but just rearranged in an odd fashion, or is the Jewerly actually being completely stripped from the ships?

Camaero: Do you have a saved game that your "Enemy Invading with 0 troops" bug is reproducable with? Thanks (and glad your're enjoying the game )!

I am getting the occasional CTD in a regular game after doing ctrl+N a couple of times which is new with this version of the patch, I'd give a debug.err after a crash but I don't know how to post one.

and I've gotten that campaign crash too. although in the first mission, on simple difficulty, my ally, the Altarians went and got the drengin planets anyway, or actually the second drengin planet just decided to surrender to the Altarians. Is this suppoused to happen or not in the first campaign mission? I won that mission anyway because I was allied.

also, in another game where I played as the Yor and with minor races on (the game was on simple or beginner difficulty, I forget atm), the Snathi somehow went really fast in technology and even though they had advanced pretty good, I had no difficulty in crushing them

however, when I attack a planet with ships in it, I just see the ship or fleet thats attacking send a missile or whatever at the planet and an explosion. is it suppoised to work that way?

and another bug, when I change the difficulty in a new game, the intelligence setting of the other races doesn't change accordingly and for some reason at first only the drath would change thier intelligence, but thiers was on intelligent while the rest were on fool for simple difficulty, and even after I synchronized all of the AI intelligence, they wouldn't change with the difficulty level properly.

The ships that are blank were not obsolete and I would click on and off the ships to see if they would appear and they still showed blank. It was only after I created a fleet from two of the ships that everything turned to normal. So far this has only happened once to me so since I can't recreate this I am sure it will be a tough bugger to fix.

I have dual screens and I play GalCiv2 on my screen with 32 bit color, however my second screen is set to 16 bit color and everytime I start GalCiv2 it tells me I am not at 32 bit color when I am. Even if I was a 16 bit color I am not sure many would notice the difference so the warning is kind of annoying after a while.

The game now crashes to desktop when you start a game or campaign. I had to revert to version 1.11.

The problem was solved when i downloaded version 1.20[b].011 files again and installed it. Maybe the previous download was corrupt?

Galvin make sure you have the 32bit monitor set as your default monitor. If it is there should be no further notices made. I am running a dual-screen setup and have no issues with the game

Not so much a 'bug' as a request

Could you please make it so that the initial choices on all the game setup screens are remembered! I play random on all settings other than tech speed (V.Slow) and it does get seriously annoying that i have to click through each one every time to get them all to random again.

I agree, same issue with the victory options as their settings aren't remembered at the moment.
